FAQ

The short answers to the questions people actually ask.

Is Scribe free?

Yes. No ads, no premium tier, no in-app purchases. MIT licensed, source on GitHub.

Does it work on my OS?

Windows 10+, macOS 11+, most modern Linux distros. See platforms for details.

Do I need an account?

No. No login, no registration, no API keys. Download, open, go.

Will it overwrite my addon settings?

No. Saved variables and addon configs live in separate files that Scribe doesn't touch. Update, reinstall | your settings stay put.

Can I run it alongside Minion?

Yes. Both read the same AddOns folder with no conflicts. Try Scribe alongside Minion and switch whenever you're ready.

Where does it install addons?

Into your ESO AddOns folder (Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns by default). Changeable in settings.

How much RAM does it use?

~50-60 MB. The UI is virtualized so addon count doesn't matter | 10 addons or 200, same performance.

Does it manage addons for other games?

No, just ESO right now. The architecture could support other games down the line but that's not the focus.

How do I report a bug?

Open an issue with your OS, Scribe version, and steps to reproduce.

Is it affiliated with ZeniMax, Bethesda, or ESOUI?

No. Independent community project. Not affiliated with or endorsed by anyone.

How do I uninstall Scribe?

Delete the app. It doesn't install system services or background processes. Your addons stay in the AddOns folder.
