How to Install ESO Addons

The quick version. You'll be done in under a minute.

Before you start

  • ESO installed and launched at least once
  • Scribe downloaded for your platform
  • No ESOUI account or external account needed

Step 1: Open Scribe

On first launch it asks for your ESO AddOns folder. Default paths:

  • Windows: C:\Users\You\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns
  • macOS: ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns
  • Linux (Proton): steamapps/compatdata/.../pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns

Usually auto-detected. Just confirm it's right.

Step 2: Find addons

Click the "Find More" tab. Search by name, browse by category, or sort by popularity.

Step 3: Install

Click install on any addon. Scribe downloads it, extracts it, and checks for dependencies automatically. No ZIP files, no manual anything.

Step 4: Update

Scribe checks for updates every time you open it. Hit "Update All" or update individual ones | your call.

Step 5: Uninstall

Trash button on individual addons, or select multiple and bulk uninstall.
